About Flower City Volleyball
Program Philosophy:
At Flower City Volleyball (FCV), we believe that every athlete who loves volleyball should have the chance to play, learn, and grow in the sport. Our program is committed to creating a positive, engaging environment where players can develop their skills, improve their fitness, learn to be great teammates, and build both confidence and competitive drive. Our experienced coaching staff prioritizes each athlete’s individual goals, offering support, challenge, and encouragement every step of the way. FCV is built on the belief that with the right guidance and culture, every player can thrive, and that a strong, inclusive volleyball community opens the door to lifelong growth and opportunity.
Why was FCV started?
FCV, originally known as Pittsford Community Volleyball Club (PCVC), was founded with a clear mission: to provide youth and teen athletes with a more affordable, inclusive, and supportive place to play volleyball. The program was created to ensure that players not only had access to experienced and passionate coaches, but could also grow in a safe, focused, and challenging environment that prioritizes their individual development and love for the game. The idea for the club emerged from years of coaching a successful Modified volleyball program, where it became clear that many multi-sport athletes or those unable to commit to the demands of traditional club teams still needed a place to learn, compete, and improve. As the program grew and became more established, it rebranded as FCV to reflect its broader reach across the Greater Rochester area and its membership in national organizations like the Junior Volleyball Association, signaling a new chapter of professionalism and opportunity for players at every level.
