FCV Volunteer Coaches…
Are fantastic role-models of positivity, hard work, time management, confidence, respect, and skill
Are role-models in the classroom, athletic and extra-curricular environment, community, and among their peers
Are interested in leadership, management, education, and/or coaching
Are passionate about giving back to the local volleyball community through inspiring the next generation of Rochester area volleyball
Rules and Requirements
A parent/guardian must email Coach Myers at FlowerCityVball@gmail.com expressing interest in the volunteer opportunity
Complete the Volunteer Registration form emailed to the parent/guardian by Coach Myers
Must provide a parent email that is checked often, as all communication of cancellations, time changes, etc. will be communicated through a parent’s email
Must be able to attend at least 7 of 10 sessions for any tryout prep program, or 4 of 5 sessions of the Sprouts program they are volunteering for
Must arrive 30 minutes before the session start time, and have a ride home a reasonable amount of time after the session end time (for their safety)
Must wear appropriate and safe clothing (no jewelry) - knee pads may be desired for demonstrations
Must be mindful of their language and behavior around their younger peers
Must refrain from cell phone use during the session besides on water breaks, picture/video is prohibited, especially of participants!
Volunteers are responsible for tracking their hours/providing Coach Myers with school community service documents as needed (typically for a signature) to guarantee their hours are honored
Specific Program Requirements:
Sprouts (Youth Programs):
Volunteers need to have at least 2 years of Modified school team experience
Modified Programs:
Volunteers need to have at least 1 year of JV school team experience (the ideal age group would be those entering Sophomore year of high school or above)
JV Programs:
Volunteers need to have at least 1 year of Varsity school team experience (the ideal age group would be those entering Junior or Senior year of high school)
Volunteer Coaches Earn…
20 hours of community service credit if attending a 10-session program in its entirety, 10 hours of community service credit if attending a 5-session program in its entirety
An opportunity to learn/better their own skills through teaching
An opportunity to build communication, public speaking, leadership, teaching, and coaching skills
An opportunity to make an impact on the local volleyball community
